How can I make itunes songs work with blackberry?

I just got a blackberry and am trying to sync my itunes library to it. The songs not downloaded from itunes in addition to my newer itunes downloads will sync, but I am guessing there is a license problem with my earlier downloads. Anyone know how I can manage this?

The only way I know of is in itunes if you right click a song you can create an mp3 version of it and I upload the mp3 version on my phone.
