I have rashly said that I will type up my friend’s address book and put all the contacts in her Blackberry. I can use my husbands pc (i don’t want to use my Mac in case it erases all my own contacts). is it possible to as it were create and synchronise her blackberry with her own ‘address‘ book on his pc?

First and foremost, are you giving your friend contacts that are currently on your own BlackBerry? If so you can actually attach the address book contact to an email and send them to her that way.
Otherwise, you can create another email “profile” in Outlook (http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/profile.htm) and then assign that new profile to Desktop Manager for syncing with her BlackBerry.
Before starting any of this I would backup the other profile to a .pst file just to be sure you don’t corrupt or lose any data.
As another alternative, I’ve recently seen info about Google synchronizing with BlackBerry contacts! That might be an even better “neutral” solution!! Take a look here: http://www.google.com/mobile/blackberry/sync.html
