I got the 8900 Curve now almost a year and over 1 month i can choose another mobile i think im going for the bold 9700 or i will wait for the new Iphone ? i dont know

it part of your monthly data plan, so no. IF, like Rogers/Telus/Bell here in Canada, T-Mobile specifically has a no voice but email+IM plan that refutes BBM use then you’ll have to.
Finally you guys can make calls AND data simultaneously on the BB
