and wonder what advantage having a blackberry is over a regular cell phone. I do text some and would like to be able to access the internet some on my phone. With a blackberry, is there a charge each time you access the internet-like it is with a regular cell phone?

A mobile phone is something you use to make telephone calls and text messages using cellular radio.. a mobile telephone.
Blackberry is a brandname of a particular make of smartphone…
a smartphone is a mobile phone with extra features that make it an organiser and web browser and email reader etc and many more features.. a phone with a PDA
a PDA is a personal digital Assitant – or mobile computer..
there ar emany smartphones, Nokia, Blackberry, Palm, Samsung, Andoid g1, and Apple all have their own operating sysetm and features
Well first off it depends on which blackberry.
For the most part the major differences are… the blackberry button layout is like that of a computer’s keyboard, also the internet feature is nice but it has a monthly fee that comes with it, about $35.00 (US).
It takes getting used to but I like mine.
Here is a video demonstration of the Blackberry Curve. http://www.mobiledevicecentral.com/Research-In-Motion-Blackberry-Curve/p/QM44IK4O
You can also find other video demonstrations of other ‘types’ of phones. Cool site. I hope this helps..
